My Very Best Friend

For RickRoss 🙂

Good morning my friend,
With your little wet nose,
Those fat paws to greet me,
As the alarm clock rings.

The look of love on your face,
That little heartbeat at my feet,
The reason I wake up each morning,
Is because of you, little one.

Simple joys please you,
Content with a little green ball,
Chasing it under a table,
With a look of mischief on your face.

When there’s no one in the bleachers,
Or sounds from a crowd to cheer me on,
You’re always there,
Sitting quietly on the side.

Your tail wagging,
To let me know that you’re there,
Forever, and ever…
I love you my very best friend.
