My Life in Like

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson R.I.P

I’m Starting With The Man In The Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change

The sad truth about my generation is that we were witness mostly to Michael Jackson as  “Wacko Jacko”. We let the paparazzi and gossip magazines tarnish our view of Michael Jackson, we forgot the good he gave to us. We forget the imperfections that we each have, the problems that we encounter and instead we prefer to focus on disturbing facts about someone else. Fame makes that easier, since we figure they have the success, the money, so it’s only natural that they screw up their own lives, and all we can do as spectators is share a laugh. Did it really have to take the death of the King of Pop to make people realize how twisted our society really is? As Rev. Al Sharpton said during the Memorial Service, “Your Daddy wasn’t strange, it was strange what your Daddy had to deal with.”

There is no changing the fact that irregardless of the bad press surrounding Jackson, the world became a better place because of the gift he left all of us. His music remains so powerful, it inspires people to be better, it created a movement unlike any other that paved the way for all the other artists out there. Michael Jackson was a pioneer, a genius, and simply a man who remains in our hearts and in our minds as the greatest entertainer that ever lived.

Let his music live on.

Here’s to Michael Jackson, I will forever be your fan and I hope that you have found this place:

There’s A Place In Your Heart
And I Know That It Is Love
And This Place Could Be Much
Brighter Than Tomorrow
And If You Really Try
You’ll Find There’s No Need To Cry
In This Place You’ll Feel
There’s No Hurt Or Sorrow
